ABOUT FAMILY CONNECTIONS
Our Mission
To strengthen families with young children. |
Our Vision
To improve tomorrow's quality of life in the community by ensuring today's children are raised to be happy, healthy and self-sufficient. |
Shaker Family Center Facility
The Shaker Family Center building, formerly Sussex Elementary School, houses Family Connections in addition to three independent early childhood programs: Carol Nursery School, Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities (CCBDD) and Early Childhood Enrichment Center. Family Connections' community events are held on the grounds of the building.
Located in the quiet, tree lined Sussex neighborhood, the Shaker Family Center facility offers a variety of grassy areas and playgrounds, and a charming seasonal Learning Garden, perfect for young children.
Ample parking is on the streets surrounding the facility or in the parking lot located off Lomond Boulevard.
Cleveland Heights Facility
The former Coventry Elementary School is home to Family Connections in Cleveland Heights, and to three other non-profit organizations: The Ensemble Theater Company, Lake Erie Ink and the temporary home of the Cleveland Sight Center. Within our Coventry facility, families will find our Family Playroom and Parent Lending Library, and – coming soon – a large muscle room where children can play indoors on slides, climbers and trikes. The Coventry Building is also a base of operations and home to literacy materials used within our school-based programs, and other off-site programs.
Right outside our doors is the Coventry P.E.A.C.E Park, and we are a “stones throw” from the Coventry branch of The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Library and Coventry Village, home to many great shops and restaurants. |
