Patricia S. Mearns Family Playroom
The Patricia S. Mearns Family Playroom is a great place for families with children ages birth to five years to meet other parents/caregivers while their children explore, interact with other children and play with a wide variety of toys and hands on activities.
Membership to the Family Playroom includes use of the Playroom, Gym and Muscle Room during scheduled hours. Fun toys, activity tables, books and more create an environment to stimulate your child's imagination. Weekly art projects and monthly story time with a librarian from Shaker Heights Public Library add to the fun! Parents and caregivers with infants can enjoy the "baby" side of the Playroom, snuggling on the comfy couch or playing with the infant toys and books.
Membership Options: Drop-In Visit Option:
• 3 month - $70 • $7 per family/session
• 1 year - $140
(Please Note: Our Saturday Gym Program is not included with a Playroom membership)
Hours of Operation: Our hours make the Playroom accessible and drop in (no appointment necessary) sessions are offered throughout the week and run year round.

The Family Playroom was dedicated in honor of Patricia S. Mearns, Mayor of Shaker Heights from 1992 to 1999, for her commitment to families with young children. The Mearns family has taken the lead in establishing a fund to insure the future of the Playroom. Tax deductible contributions to this fund can be made through Family Connections.
